Online Bingo Chat Room Etiquette

When playing online bingo, you may chose to participate in the bingo chat rooms as this can add enjoyment to your experience. The following are a few tips on the proper chat room etiquette.

  • Respect the Bingo Chat Host. If the host asks you questions or begins a conversation with you, it is appropriate to reply. If you are not winning, remember, it is not the hosts fault, don’t blame them for your bad luck. Do not hassle the host with any issues you are having – email the sites support for when your host cannot help you with your problem.

  • Don’t type using all capital letters. Capital letters are reserved for the chat host, so that everyone involved in the chat can easily differentiate between the host and the other players. Using capital letters in chats is usually a way for someone to show that they are angry or “yelling”. These chats are meant for pleasure and unhappy people are typically not welcome to take part in a chat.

  • Never curse at other players. Again, no one wants to communicate with nasty player. If you are caught cussing at another player, the chat host has the ability to mute you and/or boot you from the chat room.

  • Use an appropriate alias. Most players, for anonymity purposes, use aliases when taking part in a chat. Having an inappropriate alias may be offensive to other people and that person will be asked to leave the chat until he/she changes their bingo name to something more appropriate.

  • Show respect when another bingo player wins a game. It is not fair to be angry at other players if they win, it is not their fault that luck is not on your side. Also, when another player does win it is appropriate for you to congratulate them. As I’m sure that you would appreciate the recognition when it is your turn to win. Use chat terms such as wtg (way to go) or gg (good game).

  • Do not make inappropriate remarks. Especially racial, sexual and religious comments. As chat rooms are made up of people of every race, sex and religion from all over the world. You do not want to offend anyone and get booted out of the chat.

  • Give everyone a fair chance to chat. In other words, don’t be the guy who never gives anyone else a chance to participate, listening to other players plays a big role when participating in a chat.

  • Do not constantly complain and whine that you can’t get a bingo. This just annoys everyone and ruins that whole atmosphere of the chat, which is meant for enjoyment.

  • Finally, if you are the one to win a bingo, don’t gloat. This will only frustrate and get the other players down. Be gracious with your wins (and your losses).
